Calling all Métis Communities - Get Together and Get Active!

Please see the poster below for details on the Urban Portage Challenge. If you are a citizen of the Barrie-South Simcoe Metis Council, record and submit your step count to our Chair, Tony Muscat, for a chance to win prizes! (Running from August 15, 2023 to November 15, 2023).

Join your local Métis Nation of Ontario office to improve your physical, emotional and mental health through the Urban Portage Challenge. This province-wide walking competition involves tracking your steps as an individual and community. Communities will be led throughout the challenge by a local "champion" who will motivate them to participate as a group and tally their total steps taken between August 15/23 and November 14/23.

Communities who track the most collective steps will be awarded group prizes at the end of the competition. Each participant will also have opportunities within their community to win individual prizes.
